 Kori D. Walker
"K-Smoov"

I am dark and rough, smooth like sun rays on a calm lake. I am extraordinarily weird. My cover is interesting, but my pages are detailed. I am on a journey to heaven while living through hell. I have passed the turbulence of fleshly hurt, basking in the essence of Holy bliss, found peace, and reevaluating the circumference of the funnel. I now stare into myself and remain humble... -Smoov Thoughts

Who is Kori D. Walker?

Just a small town (Michigan City, IN) girl that thought I had my life figured out, but God changed everything and I want to share my journey and heart with the world.

I was working as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and living what I thought was my best life. In 2008, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and every aspect of my life changed. I experienced a whirlwind of emotions and various levels of uncomplacency. I found peace in poetry. I didn’t even realize it was poetry in the beginning. My goal was to get my feelings out, to leave my heart on the paper. Through the highs and the lows, I had a revelation to why MS was truly a blessing to my life and my outlook on life’s “big picture” was completely transformed. I once heard a pastor say, “Jesus Christ died for you. You should live to die serving Him.” This became the driving force that leads my life. I may not be able to serve in the same manner I did 15 years ago, but God has blessed me with so many other gifts and I will use them accordingly.

In 2015, I published my first work of poetry, Pencil Instrumentals: My Mind Wanders, through www.bookemon.com . I have new works of art coming soon.

August 2018, I was the keynote motivational speaker for the Indiana State Assembly of Surgical Technologists. I was asked to speak at the National Conference, but we were hit with Covid-19.

I have spoken for many students, community groups, churches, and hospital inservices.

I am the Lead Editor for Naked Truth Publishing. Lisa M. Bennett’s Just Keep Living: Conversations with Granny is my first of many to edit.

This past year, I have been blessed to do some ghostwriting for a number of websites and magazines.

As my journey continues, I move forward with steps in faith, a testimony in my heart, and a pen in my hand…
